Little Explorers Nursery
Little Explorers Nursery
Welcome to our class Page!
At Lache Primary School we pride ourselves on giving our smallest pupils the best start possible. It is really important to us that the children have ample opportunity to grow as little learners and our environment and staff really do reflect this. Below is some information about the things we are getting up to at the moment. There are also some helpful phonics tips and videos!
Half Term Focus
Its the first half term in Nursery which means it is definitely the busiest and the most exciting! We get to meet lots of new little faces and help to settle them into our Nursery family.
Our transition book is called 'Super duper you', we look at this in the first couple of weeks to really help us unpick what the interests are of the children in Nursery. This means we can plan lots of exciting activities that we already know the children will love!
Our literacy focus this half term follows a book called 'Peace at last'. Within it, Mr Bear is struggling to get settled for bed because of all the different noises he can hear around the house. This lends itself to lots of different phonics activities and we always manage to sneak a pyjama party in there as well!
Phonics
For phonics we follow a scheme called 'Little Wandle'. This continues right through the school and really gives the children the starting skills that they need in order to achieve highly in Literacy.
