Reader 4 Life
Are you a Reader 4 Life?
Here at Lache Primary School we are PASSIONATE about reading and hope that we can encourage our children to love reading like we do.
Reader 4 Life
Children are asked to read a minimum of four times a week. As they read the staff keep track on and children will work towards getting a certificate.
WE LISTENED
Following feedback from parents and children we have decided to add some more exciting levels to our reading scheme.
See all of the levels below.
Take a look at these pictures of the children enjoying their treat for reaching the HIGHEST LEVEL in Reader 4 Life!
Sharing Sheds
Thanks to funding from Passion for Learning and Lache Primary School PTA we have managed to buy two amazing Sharing Sheds.
Following donations from the Book People as well as staff we have filled both shed with a collection of exciting and engaging stories for children to read.
The Sharing Shed are open after school for children to borrow books from as well as being open at lunch times for a quiet read with friends.
Author Studies
Each class is given a specific Author to learn about each half term. The work from these lessons will be put into each classes Wider World Books.
This is helping our children to gain a broad knowledge and understanding of a range of authors.
Visits and Visitors
We love having visitors in our school, but we especially enjoy it when they come to read with us.
Over the last few weeks we have enjoyed visits from the amazing Chester FC coaches and players who made our World Book Day extra special with their performance of Wonky Donkey.
We also love a Library visit– see the pictures from Year 1 and Receptions recent trips!
Secret Reader
As well as this we have a day every other week when our teachers all swap classes and read a story, we call this Secret Reader and it is so exciting to guess which teacher is coming.
